"What you believe at age 13 is
pretty much what you're going to die believing," Researcher George Barna,
declared. I thanked God that I came to Christ fully at this age. I attended
Christian school where the Methodist Presbyter would come around and teach us a
Bible verse at the beginning of every term. Being left alone every weekend, as
sheep without shepherd because my aunt that I lived with together with her two
sons, MUST have one social engagement to leave Lagos Island for Ikorodu, to see
her on Monday after school in her cloth stall at Ebute-Ero, Lagos.
However, I appreciate the Apostolic
Faith who come around to pick us up at Offin junction to their church in
Adekunle for evening Sunday school, I still remember, the story of Jacob and
angels climbing the ladder up and down heaven on flannel graph, and the memory
verse tokens they used to give us at age 7. (I am one of their converts).
In one of Barna research shows that
children between the ages of 5 and 13 have a 32 percent probability of
accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior. That likelihood drops to 4 percent for
teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18, and ticks back up to 6 percent for
adults older than 18.
In a 2003 Barna Group nationwide
survey of pastors, church staff, and lay leaders, four of five leaders said
they participated in church children's programs for a number of years before
they turned 13.
Ten years ago, I moved around
churches in Ikorodu for good two years to see how I can run with the assignment
God gave me. I discovered that many churches care less about the children, the
result was seen in where they were kept for service, no teacher, and teaching
materials, and where there were teachers, they were mostly untrained. So, free
training programme started quarterly.
In 1960 Billy Graham and Scripture Press made a survey of
ages at which people become Christians the below graph was the result. The same
survey was also done in 1999 by Barna Research Group. The conclusion made was that ‘85%
of all commitments made to Christ occur between the ages of 4-14. If
a person does not accept Christ between the ages of 4-14, there is only a 15%
chance of doing so during their lifetime.’
In 2013, while, teaching teachers in Ijede, the Holy Ghost
gave us the importance of reaching child
ren of this age bracket. This gave birth to children
crusade which started powerfully the following day on April 1. Within four
years, one hundred (100) locations as far as Osodi, Ojota, Ketu, Ayegunle,
Ayewole ,Mile 12, Igode, Emuren, Agbowa, Agura, Oke-Agbo, Gberigbe, Mowo-nla,
Mowo-kekere, Odo-nla, Odo-kekere, Isawo, Agbede and Ibese to mention but few.
2015 July 12, the birth of the KINGSHOUSE CHILDREN CHAPEL came to being after
two days of crusade in Seye Ogunlewe.
We therefore, call on you to join the move of God in
reaching this future generation, so that we can have a better world and prepare
them for coming of THE GREAT KING JESUS.

become active members of a church where the Bible is faithfully taught
attend Sunday School, church and Good News Club regularly
be a testimony to Christ and a blessing to others wherever they go
be rooted and grounded in the Word of God
be boys or girls of prayer
be faithful witnesses, winning others to Christ
have the joy of seeing the other members of their families trust Christ also
in later life, choose the Christian partners whom God wants for them
know, and follow, God’s will for their lives and, if God should so lead them,
enter full-time Christian service
be waiting and ready for Christ’s return
